Oxea has named Specialty Chemical Sales, Inc. (SCS) as the national distribution partner for its next-generation coalescing agent Oxfilm 351 in the United States. The Cleveland, Ohio-based SCS will represent it throughout the states to the coatings market. Virtually odorless and practically non-VOC (volatile organic compound), Oxfilm 351 has been shown to be a very efficient coalescing agent for a broad range of latex and coating types. It is available in commercial quantities in the US.

“The use of traditional VOC coalescing agents has come under increasingly rigid restrictions. Formulators of decorative paint and coating systems in the US are looking for non-VOC alternatives. Oxea’s low emission Oxfilm 351 outperforms currently used coalescents. It allows our customers to develop long term solutions without any detriment to their application that comply with stringent demands,” says Jacco de Haas, Commercial Business Director Specialty Esters at Oxea. “SCS has extensive experience as a distributor and understands the national coating markets. With their own laboratory and formulation service SCS has the application and product knowledge to support our customers and tap into new markets.”
